Inside the split air conditioning system, there are two main units: the indoor unit (also known as the evaporator unit) and the outdoor unit (also known as the condenser unit). Each unit contains several essential parts that work together to provide cooling. Here are the main components found in both units:

  1. Indoor Unit (Evaporator Unit): a. Evaporator Coil: This coil contains refrigerant and is responsible for absorbing heat from the indoor air as it passes over the coil. b. Blower Fan: The blower fan circulates the indoor air over the evaporator coil to facilitate the cooling process. c. Air Filter: The air filter traps dust, particles, and pollutants from the indoor air, ensuring cleaner air is released into the room. d. Expansion Valve: The expansion valve regulates the flow of refrigerant from the high-pressure side to the low-pressure side, aiding in the cooling process. e. Thermostat: The thermostat allows the user to set the desired temperature and controls the functioning of the indoor unit based on that setting.

  2. Outdoor Unit (Condenser Unit): a. Condenser Coil: This coil releases the heat collected from inside the room to the outside environment as the refrigerant condenses back into a liquid state. b. Compressor: The compressor is the heart of the air conditioning system. It compresses the refrigerant, increasing its temperature and pressure, before sending it to the condenser coil. c. Fan: The outdoor unit has a fan that blows air over the condenser coil, helping to dissipate the heat to the surroundings. d. Condenser Fan Motor: This motor drives the fan to expel the heat from the outdoor unit. e. Condensate Drain: During the cooling process, moisture from the indoor air condenses on the evaporator coil. The condensate drain removes this moisture from the indoor unit to the outside.

In addition to these main components, modern split AC units might have additional features like remote control functionality, timers, and energy-saving modes to enhance user experience and energy efficiency.

It's important to note that while these are the fundamental components of a split air conditioning system, the specific design and features of AC units may vary from one manufacturer or model to another.
