If you touch an induction stove while wearing a metal ring, you will not get burned from the induction cooktop itself. This is because induction stoves only generate heat when there is a compatible ferromagnetic material (such as iron or steel) present in the cookware. The stove's surface remains relatively cool during cooking, and it doesn't produce direct heat that can burn your skin.

The heat is generated within the cookware itself as a result of the electromagnetic field interacting with the ferromagnetic material, so as soon as you remove the cookware from the induction stove or turn off the stove, the heat dissipates quickly, and the surface cools down rapidly.

However, it's essential to exercise caution when cooking with induction stoves and wearing metal rings or other metal accessories. While the stove itself won't cause burns, there is still a risk of injury if you accidentally touch a hot cookware surface or a hot handle. Always use oven mitts or appropriate heat-resistant protective gear when handling hot cookware to prevent burns or other injuries.

Additionally, certain metal rings or jewelry with sharp edges might scratch or damage the surface of the induction cooktop. To avoid this, it's generally recommended to remove any metal rings or jewelry before cooking or working with hot cookware on an induction stove.
